Luxury vehicles were among the first to open the fully electric vehicle segment in Vietnam. Porsche led the way with its Taycan model in 2020. Since then, the battery electric vehicle (BEV) sector has expanded significantly, with numerous other brands joining the market.
The year 2026 is expected to be dynamic for luxury electric vehicles as many brands have introduced or will introduce new product lines. This includes several names making their debut in the BEV market.
For Lexus, Toyota's luxury brand, the ES 500e marks the beginning of its fully electric vehicle sales phase in Vietnam. While entering this segment later than some rivals, Lexus has been a strong proponent of self-charging hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). The brand's HEV lineup, which includes the ES, LS, NX, RX, and LM hybrid models, boasts the largest volume in its segment.
The Lexus ES 500e will be introduced next september in Vietnam, imported from Japan. The vehicle features motors on both axles, delivering a total output of 338 horsepower. The brand has not yet disclosed torque specifications. The vehicle's Direct4 all-wheel drive system can fully distribute torque to either the front or rear axle.
The ES 500e's battery pack has a capacity of 75 kWh, providing a range of 480 km (when operating with 19-inch tires).

The Japanese brand has not yet revealed information regarding its plans for charging station installation or charging methods for its vehicles. In addition to the ES electric, the 7-seater TZ SUV will enter the Vietnam market in 2027, though a specific date has not been announced.
Porsche, following the sales of the Taycan and Macan EV, will add the Cayenne EV to its lineup. The vehicle is expected to launch in late 2026, imported from Germany. This marks the first time the brand's global flagship SUV will offer a fully electric version in the domestic market.
The Cayenne EV is currently accepting orders, with prices starting from 4,72 billion VND. The standard Porsche Cayenne EV features a motor with 408 horsepower, or 442 horsepower with launch control, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4,8 seconds and reach a top speed of 230 km/h.
The S version boasts 544 horsepower (or 666 horsepower with launch control), accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 3,8 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h.
The most powerful Turbo version delivers 857 horsepower, or up to 1.156 horsepower and 1.500 Nm of torque when launch control is activated. Porsche states this is the brand's most powerful production car, capable of accelerating from 0-97 km/h in 2,4 seconds.
In the premium segment, Mercedes has the fastest pace in expanding its electric vehicle portfolio. In 2026, the brand plans to introduce the CLA electric model.
The Mercedes CLA sold in Vietnam will be the standard 200 version, with an estimated price from dealers around 1,699 billion VND. The vehicle's motor is located on the rear axle, producing 224 horsepower and 335 Nm of torque, paired with a two-speed transmission. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7,5 seconds.
The CLA 200 is Mercedes' next fully electric sedan to go on sale in Vietnam, following the EQS. Currently, the Mercedes EQS starts from 4,789 billion VND. The three-pointed star brand's electric vehicles currently include the EQB, EQE SUV, EQS sedan and SUV, and the G-class (G580).
In 2026, Audi will expand its e-tron electric product portfolio in Vietnam with the S6 e-tron model. Previously, the German brand sold two fully electric models: the e-tron GT and Q6 e-tron.
The S6 e-tron also marks Audi's first time selling an S performance electric model. Audi's S performance division is comparable to Mercedes-AMG or BMW-M.
Audi's electric vehicle, priced from 4,2 billion VND, is equipped with a 94,9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering a range of 639-678 km depending on usage conditions. Its dual electric motors produce a total of 496 horsepower, which can increase to 542 horsepower when launch control is activated, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4,1 seconds before reaching a top speed of 240 km/h. It features a quattro all-wheel drive system.

Lotus is a newcomer to the luxury segment in 2026. The Chinese brand, distributed by Tasco, introduced two fully electric models imported from its home country: the Emeya in the low-slung segment and the Eletre in the high-riding segment.
The Emeya is a performance-oriented coupe-style sedan. It comes in two versions, 600 and 900, priced from 4,488-7,188 billion VND.
The Emeya 600 version is equipped with a motor delivering 603 horsepower and 710 Nm of torque, with a maximum range of 610 km. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4,15 seconds. The 900 version has a range of 485 km, a motor with over 900 horsepower, and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 2,78 seconds.
The Eletre uses a similar powertrain to the Emeya but in an SUV body. The price range is similar to the electric coupe sedan.
Except for Lexus, which has not yet started selling its electric vehicles, the other luxury brands offer customers home charging, charging points at showrooms, or public charging stations provided by third parties.
Beyond these brands that have launched or will launch fully electric products in 2026, Vietnamese consumers also have other options from BMW, Volvo, and Maserati. Considering the entire luxury segment, Mercedes and BMW offer the most diverse range of fully electric vehicles.
Luxury brands generally do not disclose sales figures for electric vehicles specifically or for their brands overall. However, according to VnExpress data, which includes new and re-registered used vehicles, in 2025, Mercedes led the entire industry, with Lexus closely behind, and BMW in third place.
