Motorcyclist runs red light, crashes into three-wheeled vehicle

A motorcyclist speeding through an intersection on a red light collided forcefully with a three-wheeled vehicle on 6/12/2024 in Binh Xuyen.

Video: CTV

The traffic incident involved a motorcyclist traveling at high speed, running a red light at an intersection, and colliding with a three-wheeled vehicle approaching from a perpendicular direction. The powerful impact caused the three-wheeled vehicle to swerve, and the motorcyclist became entangled with the vehicle before managing to get off.

Drivers approaching an intersection must reduce speed and stop when facing a red light. According to Decree 168/2024, motorcyclists running a red light face a fine of 4-6 million VND and a deduction of 4 points from their driver's license. If such an action causes an accident, the penalty increases to a fine of 10-14 million VND and a deduction of 10 points from the driver's license.
