According to a bank representative, the new payment service is named VietQRGlobal. This common identifier helps international tourists in Vietnam easily recognize QR code payment acceptance points. With this new service, customers from connected countries can pay directly at QR-accepting stores via their banking applications.
Users simply scan the VietQRGlobal code on screen and complete transactions in seconds. This convenience means foreign visitors do not need to carry cash or cards, nor worry about high foreign exchange conversion fees; instead, they can manage exchange rates transparently within the application. The extensive network of acceptance points across Vietnam, including shopping malls, tourist attractions, restaurants, and retail stores, makes spending for tourists easier, more secure, and gives them more control.

This new feature facilitates financial transactions for tourists visiting Vietnam for leisure or business, thereby attracting a larger number of international visitors and enhancing trade and tourism connections between countries. VietQRGlobal is currently available for tourists from Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and most recently, Trung Quoc. BVBank is one of the leading entities to implement this service.
This service also allows business households and store owners to easily register and implement the VietQRGlobal BVBank service directly on Digistore. Merchants can flexibly generate static codes for display at counters or dynamic codes for individual transactions, enabling foreign customers to quickly scan and pay. This new feature offers convenient payment experiences for tourists, optimizes costs for merchants, and helps them attract more customers, especially during Vietnam's peak tourism seasons.
Nguyen Thien Tam, Director of BVBank's Digital Banking Center, stated that VietQRGlobal represents a new advancement in providing convenient payment services for customers in Vietnam and abroad. Previously, the bank had implemented QR code payment features on Digimi at Napas-linked acceptance points for Vietnamese users traveling to countries such as Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia.
The bank is also one of the first to implement VietQRPay at payment acceptance units in Vietnam. This feature allows users to select their payment card source at BVBank's VietQRPay acceptance points. Beyond creating new conveniences, the bank also upgraded to the IBFT 2.0 standard, which increases transaction processing speed and capacity 24/7, enhancing the user payment experience.
These efforts led to BVBank being honored by Napas in the "bank with outstanding innovative services" category. "The award demonstrates our efforts and shows the effectiveness and positive experience our payment solutions bring to customers", Tam said.
This year, BVBank recorded strong growth in digital payment activities, with the total number of Napas 24/7 money transfer transactions increasing by nearly three times, and transaction value rising by 1,4 times compared to 2024. The bank also officially entered the payment market as a payment bank, marking a new step in its payment infrastructure development strategy.
Concurrently, a highlight of the year was the launch of the Digistore solution, featuring: electronic invoicing, remote digital signatures, Paysound payment sounds, and multi-method card payments on Smart POS. Leveraging its advantage in implementing VietQRGlobal and VietQRPay, BVBank continues to expand its payment network, enhance service quality, and contribute to building a modern, secure, and sustainable payment ecosystem for customers.
