Can Tho City is set to significantly expand its industrial footprint with the approval of two major industrial park projects, representing a combined investment of nearly 7,000 billion VND. On 12/6, the People's Committee of Can Tho City (PPC) officially granted investment approvals for the Tan Hoa Industrial Park and the Dai Ngai Industrial Park.
The Tan Hoa Industrial Park, developed by Mekong Can Tho Industrial Park Investment Joint Stock Company, is situated in Tan Hoa commune. This extensive project covers over 204 hectares and commands an investment capital of nearly 4,000 billion VND. Construction and infrastructure development for Tan Hoa Industrial Park are projected to be fully completed by the end of 2029.
Concurrently, the PPC also approved the Dai Ngai Industrial Park project, with Dai Ngai Industrial Park Co., Ltd. as the investor. Located in Dai Ngai commune, this project spans 196 hectares and involves a total investment exceeding 2,915 billion VND.
These two new industrial parks are strategically positioned to leverage the region's robust transportation network. Their locations offer seamless connectivity to key infrastructure, including the North-South Expressway East, the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang horizontal expressway, the future Tran De deep-water port, and the burgeoning logistics centers in the lower Hau River region.
Speaking at the decision awarding ceremony, Le Cong Ly, Standing Vice Chairman of Can Tho City PPC, highlighted the transformative potential of these developments. He expects the industrial parks to attract diverse sectors such as processing, manufacturing, supporting industries, logistics, and high-tech enterprises. This influx is anticipated to generate approximately 30,000 jobs and significantly contribute to the city's overall economic growth.
