The project is situated in Aracruz city, Espirito Santo state, with a designed capacity of approximately 1,2 million TEU annually and a quay length of 750 m. The port will feature modern container handling systems and a channel depth of 17 m, enabling it to accommodate large container vessels.
Dheeraj Bhatia, CEO of Hanseatic Global Terminals, stated that Latin America is a strategic market for HGT and Hapag-Lloyd. Investing in this new transshipment and gateway port on Brazil's east coast expands their port portfolio and addresses capacity constraints in a rapidly growing region.
He added that the Aracruz port will enhance Brazil's trade infrastructure. Its location, closer to consumer markets and global shipping routes than many traditional ports, will provide exporting states with more efficient international market access options.
Etore Selvatici Cavallieri, President of Imetame Group, remarked that Hanseatic Global Terminals possesses the experience and capability to provide efficient handling services to customers. He added that this investment will enhance Brazil's role in the global trade chain and emphasized that the project will create jobs and foster local business development.
