Reducing PM2.5 fine dust with active air purification solutions

Rising fine dust pollution leads many Hanoi families to prioritize active air purification devices to control indoor air quality and mitigate PM2.5 harm.

In early December, Hanoi's sky was repeatedly shrouded in white haze, with air quality index (AQI) readings surpassing 200-230. This placed Hanoi in the "very unhealthy" category, among the highest worldwide, according to IQAir data.

This polluted environment prompted many families to actively manage the air quality in their living spaces. Air purifiers utilizing modern technology, such as Airdog, became a preferred choice for many families seeking to protect their health.

Airdog air purifiers employ active electric field filtration technology TPA (Two Pole Active). Instead of passively trapping dust with filters, the device generates an electric field to attract and capture pollutants, viruses, and bacteria onto a collecting plate. This collecting plate is washable and reusable for many years, as per technical recommendations. Eliminating the need for regular filter replacement significantly reduces operating costs and waste from consumables.

The ability to process ultrafine particles, including sub-PM2.5 dust, explains why electric field technology has gained attention among urban families amid complex pollution. In areas with high construction density or homes near major traffic routes, air purification devices help mitigate exposure risks even with doors and windows closed.

Sustainability significantly influences consumer choices. The long-term reusability of filters aligns with a consumer trend towards waste reduction and optimized operating costs. This represents a shift in urban consumer behavior, with growing interest in product lifecycles and environmental impact.

In Hanoi, some families report a routine of monitoring AQI each morning and adjusting their activities accordingly, while operating air purifiers to maintain a stable indoor environment. For families with young children or the elderly, these devices have become a long-term support solution, rather than a seasonal tool as in the past.

While not the only option available, new-generation air purification devices reflect a clear trend: urban residents actively create "safe zones" for respiratory health within their homes. Given unpredictable air quality fluctuations, controlling the indoor environment is a practical solution to reduce exposure and protect long-term health.
