Vietjet is the sole representative from Vietnam named on the "Top 25 Safest Low-Cost Airlines for 2026" list. The results are based on criteria including: incident assessment, fleet age, pilot training, and data from international safety audits. The Top 25 ranking also considers incident records over the past two years, accident records over five years, inspection results from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), exclusion from the EU's blacklist, and the age of the fleet.
On its announcement page, AirlineRatings stated that this year's awards placed greater emphasis on air turbulence prevention and other specialized criteria. Vietjet currently operates a new-generation, fuel-efficient fleet with a technical reliability of 99.72%, placing it among the highest in the region. The airline has achieved Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and Ground Operations Safety Audit (ISAGO) certifications, and actively participates in safety enhancement programs of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The carrier pursues a sustainable development strategy with long-term investments in training, maintenance, and engineering to ensure high safety standards regionally and globally.
Last month, Vietjet received 22 new aircraft, its largest single fleet expansion to date, aimed at modernizing its fleet, improving operational efficiency, and reducing fuel consumption.

Since 2018, Vietjet has consistently maintained a maximum safety rating of seven out of seven stars and has been ranked among the world's safest airlines for many consecutive years.
The 2026 rankings include two categories: "The Top 25 Full-Service Airlines for 2026" and "Top 25 Safest Low-Cost Airlines for 2026".
