Vietjet Thailand received the Boeing 737-8 at Suvarnabhumi International Airport (Bangkok, Thailand). This aircraft is part of a batch of 50 units that Vietjet Thailand will operate between now and 2028.
The airline plans to operate its first commercial flight with the Boeing 737-8 on the domestic Bangkok - Chiang Mai route. This will be followed by its first international route, Bangkok - Cam Ranh, in 12/2025. Additional aircraft will arrive to meet growing travel demand and expand the flight network connecting key destinations across the Asia-Pacific region.

The Boeing 737-8 features improved aerodynamics and new generation LEAP-1B engines. It is fully compatible with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), which helps reduce CO2 emissions by 15-20% and noise by up to 50% according to ICAO standards.
With a maximum range of 6,570 km, Vietjet stated it will deploy the Boeing 737-8 on long-haul routes. Its Boeing Sky Interior design offers a spacious, modern cabin and large baggage compartments, enhancing passenger comfort during their journeys.

While the airline continues to operate its Airbus fleet in Vietnam, Vietjet stated it will leverage its experience with new generation aircraft and a global partner ecosystem to strengthen its international flight network. This expansion will occur through key aviation hubs in the Asia-Pacific region, with gradual extensions into Europe and the Americas.
This strategic move marks a significant step in the group's efforts to synchronize its fleet across different markets, enhance operational efficiency, and promote sustainable development. The prior order for 200 aircraft from Boeing was a notable agreement, contributing positively to the bilateral trade balance between Vietnam and the United States.
