According to a resolution from the board of directors of Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company, the full divestment of its capital in Vietravel Airlines is scheduled to be completed before 31/12. Vietravel currently holds over 18.4 million shares, representing approximately 14.1% of the airline's total shares.
Vietravel Airlines, initially capitalized at 700 billion VND, received government approval for its establishment in April 2020. The airline commenced its first commercial flight in early 2021, marking it as Vietnam's sixth airline and third private carrier.
Following Vietravel's divestment, the airline's shareholder structure will include T&T Airlines, T&T SuperPort, BVIM Fund, and other individual shareholders. Entities linked to Do Quang Hien, founder of T&T Group, became strategic shareholders in Vietravel Airlines late last year, acquiring approximately 75% ownership.
Months later, Do Vinh Quang, son of Do Quang Hien, was appointed chairman of the airline's board of directors. Under the new ownership, Vietravel Airlines has expanded its fleet with additional aircraft and increased its charter capital to 2.6 trillion VND. The airline currently operates flights primarily along the Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City routes, with services also extending to popular tourist destinations such as Phu Quoc and Nha Trang.
Vietravel Airlines aims to expand its fleet to a minimum of 10 aircraft by the end of this year. The airline is actively engaging in negotiations with international aircraft manufacturers and airlines to support its fleet expansion strategy.
In the near future, the airline plans to relocate its headquarters from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi. This move aims to optimize operational efficiency and prepare for its next phase of development.
