These dates are part of the 2025-2026 academic year plan for these localities. Compared to previous years, most areas are having 9th and 12th graders return earlier, coinciding with the first graders. The remaining grades will follow a common schedule.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training's plan, the first semester will end before 18/1/2026, and the second semester before 31/5. Provinces and cities are proactively developing their academic year plans, but must ensure a full 35 weeks (18 weeks for semester one, 17 for semester two), with holidays and Tet breaks as regulated.
This year, the Ministry of Education and Training (formerly the National Ministry of Education) celebrates its 80th anniversary. From 8:00 to 9:30 on September 5th, students and teachers nationwide will watch a live broadcast of the Ministry's opening ceremony in Hanoi, participating in the flag-raising ceremony, singing the national anthem, and listening to a speech by General Secretary To Lam.
