Musician To Hieu, who was close to the actor in his final days, confirmed the news, stating that Thuong Tin had experienced a significant decline in both health and spirit. To Hieu is currently with the actor's family to arrange funeral services.
Thuong Tin, 68, began his career at the National School of Music and Drama Saigon. He later joined the Cuu Long Giang Drama Troupe before moving to the Kim Cuong Troupe. There, he partnered with the renowned actress Kim Cuong and gained fame for his impressive performances in plays such as *Bong Hong Cai Ao*, *Vuc Tham Chieu Cao*, *Huyen Thoai Me*, and *Tanhia*.

Later, Thuong Tin transitioned to cinema, leaving his mark in films like *Van Bai Lat Ngua*, *SBC*, *Biet Dong Sai Gon*, and *Chien Truong Chia Nua Vang Trang*. In 2015, he released his memoir, *Mot Doi Giong Bao*. In February 2021, the artist was hospitalized due to a stroke, prompting colleagues to call for donations. Following his recovery, from early 2022, he shifted his focus to singing at various small events and music nights.
His 2015 memoir revealed details of his many romantic relationships. His first love, at the age of 19, was with a beauty queen from the National School of Music and Drama (now the University of Theater and Cinema TP HCM). They had a son who later pursued a career as a lounge singer. He subsequently had other relationships, all of which ultimately ended. His most recent partner was Kim Chi, with whom he had a young daughter named Thanh Thao.
