Authorities have suspended circulation of the first product, Whitening Sheet Mask Greentea, a skin-whitening facial mask from TVR Joint Stock Company. The recalled batch, number 5050501, was manufactured on 5/5/2025. According to regulatory authorities, inspection results revealed that the product's formula components did not match the previously approved cosmetic dossier.
Similarly, a batch of Antisun sunscreen from Tami Natural Home Pharmaceutical Cosmetics Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has also been recalled for the same violation. The recalled product batch, number 0124DH, was manufactured on 15/3/2024. These cosmetics are widely available on e-commerce platforms.
Using cosmetics with incorrect formulas can expose users to severe skin irritation and may not deliver the expected protection or skin-nourishing effects. This also leads to direct economic losses, potential dermatology treatment costs for allergic reactions, and erodes consumer trust in brands.
The Drug Administration of Vietnam (DAV) has directed provincial health departments to instruct businesses, pharmacies, and cosmetic stores to immediately cease selling and using these products, and to proceed with their recall and destruction as per regulations. Companies must send recall notices to their entire distribution network, accept returned goods, and report results to the regulatory agency before 25/7.
Experts advise consumers to carefully check the batch information of products they are currently using. If it matches any of the recalled batches, users should stop use and contact the seller for return instructions.
Since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Health has consistently recalled and destroyed substandard products. Most recently, 779 other products, including moisturizing creams, sunscreens, and facial cleansers, were recalled nationwide for failing to meet manufacturing standards. This action is part of the regulatory agency's intensified efforts to tighten control over the pharmaceutical and cosmetic market, addressing issues of counterfeit goods, substandard products, and misleading advertising.
