The incident, reported by The Bangkok Post, occurred on 15/11 at an office building in Lat Krabang district, Bangkok. A cleaning staff member working on the building's third floor heard a baby crying. Upon entering the restroom, the individual lifted the toilet cistern lid and discovered a baby. The water level inside the cistern was reportedly half-full.

Due to prolonged immersion, the baby's skin was pale and wrinkled, and her umbilical cord appeared freshly cut. Police and medical personnel immediately transported her to Sirindhorn Hospital. Authorities initially described her condition as critical. However, following medical care, doctors confirmed her health was stable, with no serious injuries, and she weighed approximately 2,7 kg. Recent images show the baby resting calmly in a hospital crib, wrapped in a warm white blanket.
Captain Kritsada Saikhong, a representative of the Lat Krabang Police Station, stated that the baby girl was less than 24 hours old and had been abandoned shortly after birth. There were no immediate clues regarding the mother's whereabouts at the scene.
"We are reviewing all security camera footage to identify individuals entering and exiting the building and the restroom area around the time of the incident", Captain Saikhong said, vowing to find the person who abandoned the child.
Under Article 306 of the Thai Criminal Code, individuals found guilty of abandoning a child under 9 years old can face a penalty of three years in prison, a fine of up to 6.000 baht, or both.
In 2013, a similar incident in China shocked the nation when a young mother flushed her newborn son down a toilet. Rescue teams had to cut through a sewage pipe to save the baby, who became known as "Baby 59". The child miraculously survived despite a weak heartbeat and multiple scratches. The mother later confessed after police found blood-stained toys and toilet paper in her apartment.
