On 25/11, Do Van Tren, 43, was arrested by Thap Muoi Commune Police along with five alleged accomplices: Vo Tan Loc, Nguyen Minh Tien, Le Van Thien, Nguyen Duc Thinh, and Nguyen Huynh Thanh Tuan, all aged 16-23. They face charges of robbery after allegedly attempting to kidnap a creditor and then stealing his motorbike.
Initial investigations revealed that in October, Tren borrowed 1,4 billion VND from Mr. Thanh to cover a bank loan repayment. When the debt became due and Tren was unable to repay, he devised a scheme to kidnap Mr. Thanh and hold him in a rented house.

On 23/11, Tren arranged to meet Mr. Thanh at a restaurant, claiming he would repay the debt. Simultaneously, he enlisted Loc, Tien, Thien, Thinh, and Tuan to carry out the kidnapping. When the initial kidnapping plan failed, the group resorted to robbing Mr. Thanh of his motorbike before fleeing the scene.
The suspects were apprehended one day after the incident. Police confiscated several items of evidence: stun guns, syringes, anesthetics, pepper spray, a motorbike, and an oto used during the crime, in addition to the victim's stolen motorbike. Tren has not yet revealed his motive for the attempted kidnapping.
