On 9/6, the Social Order Crime Investigation Police Department of Quang Tri Provincial Police announced the temporary detention of Cao Duc Tuan, 32, for threatening to kill.

According to the investigation, Tuan suspected his wife of having an affair, so he forced her into the truck he was driving. Upon reaching the Lao Bao international border gate, Tuan and his wife rented a motel room. After locking the door, Tuan continued to interrogate his wife and strangled her with a phone cord.

His wife pleaded, and Tuan released the cord before going to sleep. Tuan then drove the truck to various locations, repeatedly using an electric cord to strangle his wife and threaten her life. The woman's pleas eventually led Tuan to release her.

While the truck was on the highway, his wife asked to stop for a restroom break. Seizing the opportunity, she climbed over the guardrail, escaped, and reported the incident to authorities.

Tuan drove the truck into Laos to pick up goods. Upon his return to the Lao Bao international border gate, he was arrested.
