Le Thanh Hai, 30, residing in Ho Chi Minh City, and Tran Thanh Tu, 26, from An Giang, were arrested by Xuan Huong Ward Police in Da Lat. They face three months of temporary detention for disturbing public order.
The incident unfolded on the morning of 13/4, when Nguyen Vu Thien Long, 29, arrived at a guesthouse on Bui Thi Xuan street. His intention was to meet Le Thanh Hai to resolve a conflict stemming from a previous transaction involving goods.
At the guesthouse, Hai, along with Tu and Bui Van Phuong, 20, confronted Long. The three pursued and attacked Long using machetes and swords. As both parties stood on the sidewalk near a photocopy shop, Tu unexpectedly drew a gun and fired towards Long, though the shot did not hit him.
Following a 12-hour investigation, Xuan Huong Ward Police in Da Lat successfully apprehended Hai and Tu. Authorities are urging any other individuals involved in the incident who are currently at large to surrender, promising consideration for a leniency policy.
