The People's Procuracy Region 3, Dong Thap province, approved criminal prosecution for Anh, a former official at the office of Trung An ward People's Committee and People's Council, on 22/11, to investigate intentional infliction of injury. The suspect was released on bail.

Earlier, on the evening of 25/10, Huynh Anh was drinking at a friend's house and called her husband. He informed her he was drinking at the home of a 33-year-old woman in Long Hung commune.

Authorities allege that, enraged by jealousy, Huynh Anh took a taxi to the location. Seeing her 41-year-old husband drinking with a group of friends, the wife pulled out the utility knife she had brought and slashed the hostess's face multiple times, only stopping when others intervened.

According to the forensic examination results, the victim suffered a 23% injury.
