A fire erupted around 2 p.m. on 20/2 (the 4th day of Tet) at a plastic recycling machine manufacturing workshop, approximately 1,000 m2 in size, located within the Chinh Trang Industrial Cluster in My Hanh commune. Residents discovered the blaze, raised alarms, and attempted to extinguish it with on-site fire suppression equipment, but were unable to bring it under control.

Due to the large quantity of flammable materials inside, the fire rapidly spread, sending a column of smoke hundreds of meters high. Over 40 firefighters, along with militia forces and 8 fire trucks, were dispatched to the scene to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring areas.

After nearly 45 minutes, the blaze was brought under control. The fire destroyed most of the workshop, along with many machines and raw materials stored inside.
The initial cause of the incident is suspected to be an electrical short circuit.
