Aid of 30-60 million VND for homes collapsed or damaged by floods

Khanh Hoa province is providing 60 million VND to families whose homes were completely destroyed by floods, and 30 million VND to those with severely flooded or damaged homes.

Khanh Hoa province has established aid criteria for flood victims, offering substantial financial support to help residents rebuild and recover. The Provincial People's Committee (PPC) issued these guidelines on 23/11. Families whose homes were completely destroyed and rendered uninhabitable will receive 60 million VND to rebuild. Households with homes that were partially collapsed, severely flooded, or heavily damaged are eligible for 30 million VND in assistance.

Beyond housing, individuals within affected households facing hardship will receive 1 million VND each. To support education, students from elementary school upwards in these families will be granted 500,000 VND per student for school supplies and textbooks.

The necessary funds for these relief efforts will be drawn from several sources: central government support for local areas, the province's contingency budget, the disaster prevention fund, and other legal sources.

On the same day the aid criteria were announced, Khanh Hoa province also distributed 2,000 tons of rice from national reserves to residents in severely affected areas, providing immediate food relief.

The recent floods have caused extensive damage and loss of life across Khanh Hoa province. Statistics indicate that 15 people died and 20 were injured. Over 30,655 households, comprising more than 115,300 individuals, experienced flooding between one and three meters deep in areas including Tay Nha Trang, Dien Khanh, Dien Dien, and Ninh Hoa. The total estimated damage from these floods stands at 5,000 billion VND.
