On the evening of 8/12/2024, Ro Lan Bik, from the Ia Mo Production Team of Chu Pah Rubber One-Member Limited Company, was with a group of workers investigating unusual noises in a rubber plantation in Ia Mo commune, Gia Lai province. Their attention was drawn to a dog repeatedly pawing at the ground. The dog's actions revealed the limbs and face of a newborn baby girl, still with her umbilical cord, buried under a layer of soil.
"I was startled, so I joined the workers in digging her out and bringing her inside to keep warm, while also notifying authorities," Bik recounted. The baby was quickly transferred to the provincial Children's Hospital, located about 100 km from Ia Mo commune, arriving in respiratory distress.

According to Doctor Hoang Ngoc Thanh, the hospital's deputy director, the baby's health is now stable, and no internal organ damage was found. She had facial scratches, suspected to be from the dog's claws, and several marks on her lower legs from insect bites. Doctor Thanh expressed hope for the baby's future: "We hope her parents will reconsider and come forward to claim and care for her."
Ia Mo commune police are currently investigating the incident and searching for the baby's mother.
