Around 23:00 on 22/11, a Hanoi-registered truck was traveling on the elevated section of ring road 3, from Thanh Tri bridge towards Mai Dich. Near Linh Dam lake, the truck suddenly accelerated, colliding with several vehicles moving in the same direction.

In addition to the truck causing the accident, at least four other vehicles were affected, including a five-seater car, two trucks, and a passenger bus. The Bac Ninh-registered five-seater car was severely damaged, with both airbags deploying, and its two occupants sustained injuries.

The remaining four vehicles sustained damage to their front ends, rear ends, and cargo beds. Debris was scattered across the scene.

The section of road where the accident occurred was narrowed due to ongoing surface repair work. Traffic police organized traffic diversion and are investigating the cause of the accident. Tests confirmed that the truck driver involved did not have alcohol in his system.
