On the afternoon of 24/11, Phan Thi My Lien, from Hoa Xuan ward, announced she had located the owner of the jewelry found in old clothes she was preparing for flood-affected areas.
Two days prior, Lien and her team began sorting relief clothing. On the morning of 24/11, while packing the items, one small bag with "PNJ" printed on it unexpectedly fell out. Inside were a pair of rings, earrings, and gold bars.

Lien recounted her surprise upon seeing the jewelry bag, realizing the donor had accidentally left it behind. Her immediate thought was to return it promptly to ease the owner's worry, especially given their efforts to prepare aid for flood-affected residents.
The volunteer group then recorded a video and posted it on social media, showing only the pair of rings and asking the owner to accurately describe the remaining items. The information spread quickly.

Almost one hour later, a woman from the same Hoa Xuan ward arrived, presenting images that matched the forgotten jewelry. The volunteer group verified the details and returned the items.
According to Lien, the woman, emotional upon receiving the gold, explained she had been rushing to gather donations and forgot the jewelry was in her pocket. The volunteers expressed relief and happiness that the property was reunited with its rightful owner.
