Around 11 am, a container truck carrying four steel blocks, typically used as counterweights for cranes and industrial lifting machinery, was traveling on National Highway 51 from Ba Ria ward towards Tan Phuoc. As it turned into the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port complex, the steel blocks unexpectedly slid off the truck bed and fell onto the road.

A man on a motorcycle, traveling in the same direction, could not avoid the falling steel and was struck by one block, sustaining leg injuries. He was rushed to the emergency room. According to Anh Tan, a witness, "When the container truck rounded the corner, the steel fell to the right side of the vehicle."

At the scene, two steel blocks lay near the roadside at the front of the truck, while a third block had fallen onto the motorcycle from behind. Authorities secured the area, redirected traffic, and launched an investigation.

Just the day before, in Dong Nai, another container truck carrying steel also spilled its cargo while rounding a corner on a bridge descent. This incident caused tons of steel to spill onto the road and hit a couple on a motorcycle, leaving two people severely injured.
