Vietnamese men's football concluded 2025 on a high note, with teams under head coach Kim Sang-sik securing three major titles. The U22 national team notably clinched the SEA Games 33 gold medal, adding to victories in the ASEAN Cup in January and the U23 Southeast Asia tournament in July.
At the SEA Games 33 tournament held in Thailand, Coach Kim's squad demonstrated dominance, winning all four matches. They triumphed over Laos 2-1 and Malaysia 2-0 in the group stage. The team then advanced to defeat the Philippines 2-0 in the semifinals, before overcoming the host nation 3-2 in a thrilling final.
This remarkable success throughout 2025 is viewed as a solid foundation for Vietnamese football. The national teams are now set to enter 2026 with clear objectives: qualifying for the Asian Cup and defending their ASEAN Cup title later in the year.
