"Cristiano is a role model for every football player in the world", Mane stated in former defender Rio Ferdinand's podcast on 21/11. "His spirit, desire to win, and professionalism are truly impressive. I have never seen a player quite like him".

Mane played for Liverpool and then Bayern between 2016 and 2023. Notably, in the 2018 Champions League final, he and his Liverpool teammates lost 1-3 to Ronaldo's Real Madrid. Since summer 2023, Mane has played for Al Nassr, scoring 41 goals and providing 29 assists.

The Senegalese forward admitted he did not know much about Ronaldo in the past. However, since joining Al Nassr, he has come to understand that the praise from fans about CR7 is well-deserved.

"I used to read and watch television about Cristiano's dedication, spirit, and professionalism", Mane shared. "When I arrived in Arab Saudi, that is exactly what I saw. It is incredible. He demonstrates this even at 40 years old. He is a complete athlete".

Ronaldo began his professional career in 2002, building an extensive record that includes five Ballons d'Or, four European Golden Shoes, five Champions League titles, three Premier League titles, two La Liga titles, two Serie A titles, Euro 2016, and the Nations League in 2019 and 2025. Currently, he holds the record for 953 goals across all competitions, and 143 goals in 226 international matches.

Ronaldo continues to perform well even in the later stages of his career. In the previous two seasons, he scored 50 and 35 goals for Al Nassr. This season, the 40-year-old forward has continued to impress with 10 goals in 11 matches.
