The chosen wedding venue is less than three kilometers from the hospital where Ronaldo was born. Nacional da Madeira, the club where he played as a child, is also nearby. He played for two years at Nacional before moving to Lisbon to join Sporting in 1997.
Ronaldo's career trajectory after leaving Sporting in 2002 became a part of football history. His accolades include: three premier league titles and one champions league with Manchester United; four champions league titles and two la liga titles with Real Madrid; two serie a titles with Juventus; Euro 2016 and two nations league titles with the Portugal national team; five Ballon d'Or awards; four European golden boots; and a record 954 goals.

Ronaldo met Georgina in 2016, when she was working as a sales assistant at a fashion store in Madrid. The couple has two children together: Alana, 7, and Bella, 3. Ronaldo also has three other children from two undisclosed surrogate mothers: Cristiano Jr, 15, and twins Mateo and Eva Maria, 8.
Currently, in addition to raising her family, Georgina is building her career as an entrepreneur, model, and social media personality.
Georgina's father is Argentine and her mother is Spanish. She was born in her father's native country but has lived in her mother's homeland since she was one year old. Ronaldo is foregoing tradition by not holding the wedding in Georgina's home country. His family currently resides in Saudi Arabia, facilitating his play for Al Nassr.
The couple became engaged in August. The wedding is anticipated to take place after the 2026 World Cup and prior to the start of Al Nassr's 2026-2027 season.
