According to Correio da Manha on 24/11, Ronaldo decided to choose Madeira, his birthplace, as the wedding venue. This means the couple will break the tradition of exchanging vows in the bride's homeland, Argentina. The wedding date is set between the end of the 2026 World Cup and the start of the new season with Al Nassr.

In an interview with journalist Piers Morgan in early November, Ronaldo revealed that his daughters advised him to propose to Georgina. The couple has two daughters together: Martina, 7, and Bella Esmeralda, 3. The Portuguese superstar is also father to Cristiano Jr, 15, and twins Mateo Ronaldo and Eva Maria, 8, who were born via surrogacy.

The couple first met in 2016 at a fashion store in Madrid, where Georgina worked. They kept their relationship private for one year before making it public.

Georgina was born in 1994 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to an Argentine father and a Spanish mother. She has one paternal half-sister and one full sister. In 1995, Georgina’s family moved from Argentina to Spain. Her father, Jorge, was jailed for 10 years for drug trafficking in Spain in 2003.

Georgina studied ballet from four years old but stopped because her family could not afford it. At 18, she moved to Madrid to work at a retail store on weekdays and at a bar on weekends. She later found a job at a fashion store, where she met Ronaldo.
