Sinner defeats Alcaraz in ATP Finals championship

Jannik Sinner successfully defended his title at the year-end tournament for the top 8 players, overcoming world number one Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(4), 7-5.

Under the lights and intense atmosphere at Inalpi Arena on 16/11, Sinner displayed attacking tennis from start to finish. The 24-year-old consistently attacked from the baseline with speed and precision, occasionally adding impressive, Alcaraz-esque artistic touches, including some spectacular lobs.

A crucial moment arrived in the 12th game of the first set, when Sinner faced his biggest challenge. He saved one set-point with a daring second serve, clocked at 190 km/h, which unsettled Alcaraz.

Reflecting on his victory, Sinner expressed deep satisfaction with his performance. "Celebrating this trophy at the end of the year after so many stressful months, there's no better ending," Sinner stated. "The match was very tight. I saved one set-point in the first set, and I'm delighted with how I handled the situation."
