Yamal: 'I want to win the World Cup, Champions League, and Ballon d'Or'

Barcelona's young talent, Lamine Yamal, aims for every individual and team honor in football.

On 20/11, Yamal received the di stefano award for la liga's best player of the past season from Marca director Juan Ignacio Gallardo. The 18-year-old talent surpassed prominent names such as Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and teammates Pedri and Raphinha to claim the award, as voted by the respected Spanish newspaper. Yamal's coach, Hansi Flick, was named coach of the season.

Yamal accepted the award ahead of the official gala scheduled for next monday, 24/11. "Individual titles demonstrate that the entire team had a great season," Yamal told Marca. "For me, it is a source of joy and pride. Accumulating awards at this age is very positive. I will continue to work and fight to achieve such things."

This marks Yamal's first prestigious individual award of his career. Previously, he finished second in the ballon d'or race (behind Dembele) and ranked after Raphinha for la liga's player of the season award.

Full of desire and ambition at 18 years old, Yamal stated that his career goals are limitless. "La Liga, champions league, world cup, or the ballon d'or? I want them all," the young barcelona talent added. "I hope to win everything. When we are still playing, that is entirely possible."

Yamal also looks to the near future, specifically the anticipated return to camp nou, after barcelona played at montjuic for over two years. On 17/11, barcelona received approval to play at the upgraded camp nou stadium.

"Fan support is very important," Yamal said. "We have played at a stadium that isn't ours for the past two years. Montjuic is fine, but it's not what we wanted. Camp Nou will be a huge motivation for everyone and contribute significantly to the rest of the season."

Barcelona's first match at camp nou after more than 900 days of closure for renovations is against athletic bilbao tomorrow, 22/11, at 10:15 PM hanoi time. However, barcelona must limit the number of spectators. Currently, they are only allowed to open a maximum of 45,401 seats, as not all sections of the stadium are complete. The entire project is expected to be finished in 2027, at which point the stadium's capacity will increase to a maximum of 105,000 seats.

Yamal has recovered well from a groin injury and is training normally with the team. He is expected to be a central figure in barcelona's return to camp nou. Previously, Yamal had only played 7 minutes at the stadium, when he was just 15 years old.
