Scott Kupor, director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), confirmed on 23/11 that the government performance board (DOGE) "no longer exists," Reuters reported.
Kupor added that DOGE is no longer "a centralized entity," despite having 8 months remaining in its scheduled term. These were the first confirmations from President Donald Trump's administration about DOGE's conclusion, an agency once expected to advance efforts to streamline federal bureaucracy and budgets.

OPM has now taken over many of DOGE's functions. At least two key DOGE personnel are now part of the U.S. National Design Agency, a new unit established in August by executive order of President Trump, tasked with "beautifying" government websites.
DOGE was established in January, after Trump took office, with the goal of streamlining government bureaucracy and cutting federal budgets. DOGE was initially led by billionaire Elon Musk, who also served as a special government employee.
Musk later left DOGE with only a few days remaining in his 130-day term as a special government employee, due to disagreements with President Trump over the "big, beautiful act" (OBBBA).
After a short period of operation, DOGE claimed to have helped the administration cut tens of billions of USD in unnecessary spending. However, many financial experts found this figure difficult to verify because DOGE did not provide public financial reports on its specific activities.
