Police tracked down and arrested Minea later that morning. The suspect appeared mentally unstable, but a urine test showed no signs of drug use.
Investigators report that Minea confessed to targeting his wife's mother, brother, and nieces/nephews. His motive stemmed from ongoing arguments with his spouse.
Officials described the killings as an act of extreme domestic violence, claiming the lives of nearly an entire extended family. Provincial authorities extended condolences to the victims and condemned Minea's actions as "brutal and unforgivable."
Police and prosecutors are conducting forensic examinations, interrogations, and evaluating the suspect's mental state. Authorities urged the public and media to follow verified information.
