Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the third discussion session of the G20 summit on 23/11, focusing on "A fair and just future for all". The session was chaired by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The prime minister praised South Africa's choice of theme, "Strategic minerals, sustainable jobs, and artificial intelligence", noting it accurately reflects three major global shifts: green transition, digital transformation, and demographic-labor shifts.
The explosion of science and technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), is reshaping production methods and the international division of labor. This creates a huge demand for energy and strategic minerals. While this presents opportunities for nations to advance, it also carries risks such as supply chain disruptions and lagging governance, necessitating a global effort, especially from the G20.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared three strategic priorities to help create a fair, equitable, and just future for nations and people worldwide.
The first priority is to establish fair, equitable, stable, and transparent partnerships for strategic minerals, based on "harmonious benefits and shared risks". This involves promoting cooperation, forming and diversifying sustainable mineral supply chains, and developing deep processing, high-tech industries, recycling, and quality, sustainable jobs that meet environmental, social, and governance standards.
The second priority focuses on achieving breakthroughs in high-quality human resource training, linked to developing a modern, efficient, and sustainable job market. The prime minister urged the G20 to prioritize support and facilitate developing countries' participation in and benefit from education cooperation initiatives. This includes reducing barriers and fostering regional and global labor market cooperation and connectivity. He also called for developing strategies, policies, programs, and projects for high-quality human resource training, youth employment, and skilled labor development to meet rapid, sustainable growth demands.
The third priority is to develop an AI ecosystem that serves humanity without replacing people. The prime minister proposed that the G20 lead in establishing fair, transparent, inclusive, safe, and human-centered AI governance standards. He also called for supporting developing countries in building digital infrastructure, databases, technology ecosystems, and in governing and utilizing AI for safe, inclusive, and sustainable development.
Emphasizing the approach of "listening and understanding together; trusting and acting together; developing and benefiting together", the prime minister affirmed Vietnam's readiness to cooperate closely with the G20 and the international community. This cooperation aims to implement the aforementioned strategic priorities through specific, practical programs and projects, contributing to prosperity for all nations and their people.
The summit well-received and appreciated the prime minister's remarks. The conference also adopted a joint leaders' statement and transferred the G20 presidency from South Africa to the US.
