Yury Ushakov, an advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin, stated on December 6 that discussions between US envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner at the Kremlin this week were "constructive and friendly."
Ushakov noted that President Putin had met envoy Witkoff 6 times, and they "almost understand each other without words." The Russian President's advisor also deemed Kushner's involvement "timely."
"He helps make things more structured. I believe that if an agreement were drafted on paper, Mr. Kushner would largely hold the pen," the Russian official said.

Russian media previously reported the Kremlin meeting lasted about 5 hours. Speaking to reporters, Ushakov revealed that the two sides had not yet reached a compromise on the key issue of territory in Ukraine, but noted that some solutions proposed by the US side could be discussed.
The US last month presented a plan to end the Ukraine conflict and is seeking to persuade Moscow and Kyiv to accept it. The initial proposal included 28 points, requiring Ukraine to relinquish some territory, accept limits on military size, and cease pursuing NATO membership.
This draft faced opposition from Ukraine and European nations. Some provisions were removed in an updated draft, but its content remains undisclosed.
Kushner, a real estate investor, previously served as a senior advisor in the first Trump administration on Middle East policy and domestic priorities. He contributed to the Abraham Accords in 2020, which aimed to normalize relations between Israel and neighboring Arab countries.
