The Board of Directors of LPBank Securities Company (LPBS) recently announced a net revenue target of 3,800 billion dong, a 125% increase from last year. This year's pre-tax and after-tax profits are expected to rise by 160%, reaching 1,700 billion dong and 1,360 billion dong respectively.
This is LPBS's highest plan to date. If completed, the company could rank among the top 15 securities firms, assuming competitors achieve approximately 50% profit growth.
LPBS experienced its most volatile year in business results, with revenue and profit increasing 9 times and 6,5 times respectively compared to the same period, reaching 1,686 billion dong and 653 billion dong. More than half of the revenue came from proprietary trading, with the remainder from margin lending and securities brokerage.
LPBS set an ambitious business target ahead of its initial public offering (IPO) and following a period of significant changes in its major shareholder structure. Mid-this week, the company announced an offering price of 30,000 dong per share and anticipates raising approximately 4,256 billion dong if the transaction is successful. LPBS is the first securities company to announce IPO plans this year.
The company's management plans to allocate half of the funds to invest in securities such as: bonds, certificates of deposit, and deposit agreements. 45% will supplement capital for margin lending, and the remaining 5% will be used for proprietary trading and working capital.
LPBS, formerly Viettraninmex Securities Company, was established in 2009 with a charter capital of 125 billion dong. After several changes, its current capital stands at 12,688 billion dong.
Nguyen Duc Thuy, acting General Director of Sacombank, announced last month that he had acquired a 4,95% stake in LPBS. His two children collectively hold 30% in the company.
