On the evening of 30/6, actors Tran Hong Hai and Truong Loi posted an obituary on Weibo on behalf of Ly Phuong Anh’s family. She passed away on 25/6 in Beijing, aged 78. As per her wishes, her family held a private farewell ceremony.

Tran Hong Hai and Truong Loi portrayed Xue Pan and Xue Baochai, Madam Xue’s children (Ly Phuong Anh), in the 1987 series "Dream of the Red Chamber". For 40 years, the two actors affectionately referred to her as "mother". In the series, Madam Xue was the family’s pillar and the sole support for her children.

At the time, Tran Hong Hai and Truong Loi were new faces in the industry. On set, they were deeply moved by Ly Phuong Anh’s dedication and gentle nature. After the production was completed, the three of them reunited multiple times to reminisce about their shared memories from filming.

Truong Loi paid tribute to the artist, saying, "Our 40-year bond, both in film and in life, is unforgettable. Madam Xue’s warmth and kindness will forever be etched in my heart. May Madam Xue rest in peace."

Artist Au Duong Phan Cuong, who played Jia Baoyu, shared a video in memory of his senior colleague. He stated that the cast and crew remembered each other as family. During their time working together, he learned patience and humility from Ly Phuong Anh.

Filming for "Dream of the Red Chamber" began in 1984 and took three years to complete, fostering close bonds among the actors. Ly Phuong Anh had many scenes with the main cast. According to Mtime, during post-production, editors were reluctant to cut Ly Phuong Anh’s scenes because she consistently delivered excellent performances and had a warm, genuine smile.

In addition to this iconic work, the artist also appeared in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms 1994" (as Madam Bian), "The Hunchback Prime Minister Liu 1996" (as Madam Lu Wang), "Zhuang Fei", and "Sui Tang Yanyi".
