In 2022, at the age of 20, Ha An Huy won Bai hat hay nhat - Big Song Big Deal, recognized for his fresh melodies and modern structures. In july 2023, he joined Vietnam Idol. His self-composed song, "Roi", performed during the audition round, quickly gained traction online with millions of views on Youtube. Throughout the competition, the singer maintained stable performance and versatile transformations. Judge My Tam praised his vocal delivery, noting his non-reliance on excessive technique. His victory in this competition solidified his image as a new-generation artist capable of self-composing, performing, and producing music.
Ha An Huy was born in 2002 in Hanoi into a family with a traditional artistic background. His maternal grandmother is Meritorious Artist Thuy Mo, former Deputy Director of Hai Duong Cheo Theater. His mother is Meritorious Artist Minh Phuong, head of the ethnic music troupe at the Voice of Vietnam Theater. From the age of three, he accompanied his mother to professional cheo (traditional Vietnamese opera) festivals. His love for singing was ignited during his childhood, watching his mother perform from backstage. Ha An Huy shared that despite pursuing modern music, folk elements and the pentatonic scale consistently shape his compositional thinking.
He studied applied music at Thang Long University Hanoi and vocal performance at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. Under the guidance of singer Vu Thang Loi and other lecturers, his vocal approach gradually took shape, building a solid foundation for him to confidently enter the professional environment.
Following a series of consecutive achievements, the Hanoi-born singer deferred his studies and moved south to advance his career. He chose to slow down, focusing on performing in tea rooms to hone his stage presence rather than capitalizing on immediate media attention. In early 2025, he released his debut EP, "N|", which did not achieve significant impact. Despite this, he stated he was not discouraged, maintaining faith in his chosen path. The singer expressed gratitude to his audience, colleagues, and family for helping him become stronger and more mature. "Stepping into the music industry with hai awards, I understand I still have much to cultivate," he remarked.
At Anh trai vuot ngan chong gai 2026, the 24-year-old vocalist was among the prominent young talents. Sharing the stage with senior artists, Ha An Huy made his mark with consistent performance, continuously ranking among the top contestants in individual public voting. Alongside solo performances that garnered millions of views, such as "Nhuc tiem thuc" and "Giot nang ben them", Ha An Huy embraced challenges like rope swinging and circus training. When taking on the role of team captain, he demonstrated composure and the ability to unite team members.
Singer Dong Hung commented: "The Ha An Huy of yesterday has matured through continuous effort. The singer is gradually defining his style and establishing a firm position in the hearts of the audience."
Throughout his career, his mother has been his greatest support. At Vietnam Idol 2023, Meritorious Artist Minh Phuong joined her son on stage, performing "Dao lieu" together. For Anh trai vuot ngan chong gai, she refined his technique and advised on cheo melodies to help him develop a segment in the song "Tieng ru coi nguon".
Beyond professional collaboration, his mother is also a source of emotional support. Ha An Huy revealed he experienced a period of teenage psychological crisis. His mother's patience and understanding helped him regain balance to pursue art. Without pressuring her son to follow in her cheo footsteps, artist Minh Phuong consistently supports his new experiments, stating she places complete trust in his choices.
