Rimowa unveils two art-inspired hues for its luggage

German luggage brand Rimowa introduces Umber (earth brown) and Ultramarine (deep blue), two hues inspired by natural pigments in painting, across its new luggage lines and accessories.

Rimowa expands its color palette with Umber and Ultramarine, applied to its Essential and Groove luggage lines. Inspired by the historical use of natural pigments in art, these two colors merge contemporary design with the German brand's artisanal heritage.

Umber, a warm earth brown, draws inspiration from natural pigments used in classical painting. Ultramarine, a deep blue, evokes pigments crafted from lapis lazuli stone, historically prized in art. These two hues create a striking contrast between the earth's deep brown and the profound depth of blue.

These two new colors are featured in the Essential luggage line, Rimowa's signature polycarbonate collection. The hues are uniformly applied across the luggage, from the shell to the telescopic handle, zippers, logo, and wheel housings, ensuring a cohesive design. The Essential line maintains its core features: a telescopic handle, multiwheel system, TSA locks, and the Flex Divider system for efficient packing.

Umber and Ultramarine are also incorporated into the Groove collection, a line of leather accessories for daily use. Rimowa introduces the Groove Cross-Body Bag Small and Groove Zipped Pouch in Umber, alongside the Groove Mini Shopping Bag, available in both Umber and Ultramarine. Crafted in Italy from smooth calfskin with palladium-finished metal details, these designs prioritize versatility and minimalist style.

Concurrent with the product launch, Rimowa unveiled an image campaign starring actor Joe Alwyn. In the campaign, Alwyn portrays a young artist establishing a new creative space. As he builds his own environment, he discovers and embraces the Umber and Ultramarine hues, highlighting the link between color, creative inspiration, and daily life.

The introduction of Umber and Ultramarine underscores color's growing importance in Rimowa's product strategy. Beyond functional luggage and accessories, the brand now taps into emotional appeal through seasonal color palettes, giving users more ways to express personal style while traveling.

The Rimowa Essential and Groove collections, featuring the two new hues, became available globally from 8/10 via the brand's stores and website. This simultaneous launch across both luggage and leather accessories marks one of the brand's most significant color expansions this year.

In Vietnam, Tam Son International Joint Stock Company officially distributes Rimowa products.
