How does a future king start his day? Many might imagine a lavish breakfast of pastries, cold cuts, or elaborate dishes. However, Prince George opts for a much simpler choice.
The eldest son of Prince William and Princess Kate reportedly prefers cereal and apples for breakfast — a familiar combination in many British households.
According to Hello magazine, during a visit to Stockwell Gardens Nursery School, part of the London Early Years Foundation, in late 2020, Princess Kate personally served breakfast to children and discussed her children's eating habits. Today reported that Michelle Samuels, the school manager, recounted how the Princess chatted with three young children, telling them her children love eating apples and cereal in the morning. This sparked a lively discussion among the children about their favorite fruits.

Despite its simplicity, this breakfast is highly regarded by nutrition experts for providing fiber, vitamins, and carbohydrates, which help maintain stable energy throughout the morning. Apples are particularly rich in vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidant compounds like polyphenols. This fruit also contains pectin, a soluble fiber that aids in cholesterol control, supports digestion, and promotes satiety.
Meanwhile, the benefits of cereal depend on the type chosen. Whole-grain cereals are rich in fiber, beneficial for digestion, and contribute to a healthy diet, according to the UK's National Health Service (NHS). Some products are also fortified with iron and B vitamins, supporting energy metabolism.
According to the British Heart Foundation, a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can support cardiovascular health, reducing the risk of heart disease over time. Research from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health also indicates that individuals who regularly consume fruits and vegetables have a significantly lower risk of heart disease and stroke. The British Nutrition Foundation (BNF) states that regular breakfast consumption helps maintain focus and stable energy levels throughout the day, which is especially important for developing children.

Prince George is second in line to the British throne, after his father, Prince William. He is considered one of the heirs with the most relatable and normal childhoods in modern British royal history. George will turn 13 next month and will enroll at Eton boarding school in September, continuing a family tradition as both his father and uncle attended the institution.
