On 6/9, representatives from the Tien Yen Medical Center reported that the patient's vulva was severely deformed, stitched with multiple loose sutures that were still bleeding. The initial diagnosis was a perineal hematoma following surgery, requiring emergency intervention. The surgical team removed the existing sutures, drained the hematoma, cauterized the damaged blood vessels, and then performed cosmetic suturing with absorbable thread for safety.
The patient is currently under observation and receiving treatment with antibiotics and hemostatic medication.
Genital cosmetic surgery is a legitimate need, helping women improve their appearance after childbirth or address congenital defects. However, this is a highly sensitive area, rich in blood vessels, and prone to damage if the procedure is performed incorrectly. Improper cutting techniques or procedures performed in unsanitary environments can lead to dangerous complications such as hemorrhagic shock, infection, and permanent genital disfigurement.
Meanwhile, many spas perform these procedures without pre-operative blood tests or checking for bleeding disorders, increasing the risk of hemorrhagic shock in individuals with a history of such conditions. Surgical instruments at these facilities are often not properly sterilized, posing a high risk of bloodborne infections.
Doctors recommend that women seek cosmetic procedures at reputable hospitals or medical facilities with specialized departments, and strongly advise against prioritizing low prices or believing online advertisements. Always thoroughly check the practitioner's credentials, the facility's conditions, and the medical team's qualifications before undergoing any procedure.
