The individuals were taken to Phu Thien Medical Center and Ayun Pa Medical Center for treatment and were diagnosed with food poisoning. Their conditions have now stabilized.
On 30/8, the Gia Lai Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Department collected food samples for testing and requested the catering service to suspend operations pending investigation.
Two days prior, the affected individuals attended a housewarming party in Chroh Ponan village, Ia Hiao commune. There were 220 guests at the party. The menu included steamed buns, grilled pork, spring rolls, beef with bitter melon, honey-glazed roasted chicken, fried rice, stir-fried pork with lemongrass and chili, beef salad, seafood hotpot, fresh vermicelli noodles, yogurt, beer, soft drinks, and ice.
By evening, many attendees experienced symptoms such as stomach aches, diarrhea, vomiting, and fever. Some who took leftover food home also experienced similar symptoms.
Authorities noted a gradual increase in the number of hospitalizations.
