Mai Ha Trang, chairman of the Board of Directors of CCV Group Commercial Promotion Joint Stock Company, was recently indicted by the Hanoi Police Investigation Agency on charges of fraud and appropriation of assets.
Beginning in early 2022, to attract investment, Trang instructed sales staff to promote an agricultural production model and health products derived from centella asiatica. The team presented investment plans, business prospects, and promised monthly returns of 5-8% to investors.
Despite much of the project information being false, numerous investors proceeded to sign "business cooperation contracts" for centella asiatica products with CCV Group. Funds were transferred to both CCV Group's corporate account and Trang's personal account.
However, starting in 3/2023, the company ceased paying both promised profits and capital contributions. In subsequent months, numerous investors filed complaints against Trang, citing indications of fraud.

CCV Group was founded in 2018. Subsequently, the company invested in and established Vua rau ma Joint Stock Company. Trang was publicly presented as the legal representative for both entities.
Trang explained the choice of centella asiatica as the primary agricultural product, stating it met the company's business criteria by being familiar to Vietnamese consumers and a beneficial herb for human health. The company also widely announced its selection of Long An as the farm location.
