According to Nghe An Provincial Police, on the evening of 24/5, Thang, 25, residing in Truong Vinh ward, was invited by Vuong Anh Tu, 30, residing in Thanh Vinh ward, to a birthday party at a restaurant on Le Mao street. Approximately 20 people attended the gathering.

During the celebration, an argument broke out among some members of the group. Recognizing the potential for the situation to escalate, Tu intervened to calm things down. At that same moment, Thang drove his car away from the scene, running over Tu's right foot. The incident caused Tu to fall to the road, sustain injuries, and require treatment at Vinh City General Hospital.

During questioning by investigators, Thang claimed he hit Tu with his car due to "lack of observation."

A video recorded by residents shows the white 5-seater car, driven by Thang, moving forward, then reversing, before driving straight away from the location.

The Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police is currently taking statements from all individuals involved and consolidating the case file for further action.
