Eric Pierwsza, 48, was arrested in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States, after allegedly using an excavator to damage his home following an argument with his wife about divorce. The incident, which occurred after a night of drinking, saw his wife and two daughters still inside the house when the demolition began.

According to CBS News, Pierwsza reportedly told his wife, "If this is over, I will tear down the house," before climbing into the heavy machinery. He then proceeded to demolish the rear section of their residence.

Frightened, his wife immediately called 911 for help. The dispatcher noted the distinct sound of the excavator's demolition was clearly audible during the emergency call. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

After damaging the house, Eric entered to retrieve his personal belongings before leaving the scene. Police later apprehended him in a nearby town.

Authorities stated he faces multiple charges, including reckless endangerment and disturbing the public peace.

Investigators determined the house's structure was severely compromised and might require demolition for safety reasons, even though the damage did not appear to result in a complete collapse.

According to court records, Eric's wife is also seeking a protection-from-abuse order following the incident.
