On 31/5, Dong Nai Police temporarily detained Dao Duc Tai, 27, residing in Dong Phu ward, along with two accomplices. They face charges of attempted murder, illegal possession and use of military weapons, and illegal possession of narcotics.

According to the investigation, a relationship dispute with a girl in Da Kia commune led Tai to call and threaten to kill her entire family on 13/4. Early the next morning, Tai and another individual appeared outside his girlfriend's house, fired seven consecutive shots, and then fled.

Police had previously received a report and moved the girl's entire family to another location.

During the pursuit, the group barricaded themselves in a house and used weapons to resist. After a period of encirclement, detectives stormed in, subduing and arresting Tai along with two other suspects.

A search of the group's residence led police to seize five cans of pepper spray, one slingshot, machetes, and five packets of white crystalline substance suspected to be crystal meth.

The case is currently under expanded investigation.
