The policy applies to two specific groups: concentrated youth volunteers who served in the resistance war from 15/7/1950 to 30/4/1975, completed their duties, and returned home without receiving benefits for retirement, labor incapacity, illness, injury, or agent orange exposure; and grassroots youth volunteers in the South who participated in the resistance war from 26/3/1965 to 30/4/1975.
The government has mandated that the new allowance will be implemented from 1/7/2025. For youth volunteers who passed away after this date but whose allowances were not yet adjusted, the individual responsible for their funeral arrangements will receive the retroactive payment for the outstanding months.
Nationwide, there are currently over 650,000 former youth volunteers who participated in the struggles for national independence and nation-building.
