The VYB 3x3 Festival will feature 40 teams, including 24 male and 16 female squads, competing across four categories: U18 Male, U18 Female, Pro Male, and Pro Female. The U18 category is open to athletes aged 18 and below who are active members of a club. The Pro category is for professional or semi-professional athletes, with no age restrictions.
Unlike the 5x5 competition, which is exclusively for high school teams, the 3x3 Festival expands participation to include basketball clubs, academies, training centers, and other entities within Hanoi's basketball community. This broader inclusion marks a new development for this year's tournament.

Competition format
The U18 Male teams will compete in a group stage before advancing to the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final. The other three categories—U18 Female, Pro Male, and Pro Female—will have their top-ranked teams from the group stage proceed directly to the semifinals, where they will compete for a spot in the final.
The division into U18 and Pro categories ensures athletes compete at an appropriate skill level. The U18 group offers more playing opportunities for young club players, while the Pro group serves as a platform for experienced shooters to compete.
3x3 basketball is played on a half-court with three players per team, characterized by its fast pace and the need for quick ball handling in tight spaces. According to the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), this format is designed to be streamlined, flexible, highly competitive, and entertaining.
The VYB 3x3 Festival will take place from 20-22/11 at Aeon Mall Ha Dong. Alongside the 5x5 high school student competition, this festival marks an expansion of VnExpress Youth Basketball - Ziaja Cup, aiming to engage more deeply with the capital's basketball movement.
