"A balanced diet, no alcohol, no smoking, little meat, only soy milk, and staying physically active, including sex. I eat a full breakfast, a light lunch with an energy bar, a light dinner, and always walk after every meal," Boranga revealed his secrets to staying healthy and maintaining his fitness.

Boranga played 112 matches in Serie A for Fiorentina (6 matches in the 1966-1967 season), Brescia Calcio (the 1969-1970 season), and AC Cesena (92 matches over four seasons from 1973 to 1977), before competing in lower divisions until 1984.
After retiring, Boranga graduated from medical school, becoming a cardiologist and also serving as the doctor for the amateur team Bastardo. During this time, he still played one match for the team.
In 2009, while participating in athletics competitions, Boranga returned to playing football in the amateur league and officially retired for the second time in 2020, at the age of 77 years and 7 months, setting a record for the oldest football player.

In August 2025, Boranga announced he would return to play, this time at 82, for Trevi in Prima Categoria (Italy's seventh division).
The goalkeeper will play in October, but affirmed he doesn't want to play too long to "avoid becoming a laughingstock." Boranga's main goal is to demonstrate that biological age differs from age on paper. "Some days I feel like I'm 50, other times like 60. I train four times a week, including one evening at maximum intensity," he expressed.
Not only famous in football, Boranga is also a world-class athlete. He is currently the European and world champion in several jumping disciplines in the masters age group, including long jump, high jump, triple jump, and pole vault.
Boranga set a world record in the 65-69 age group with a 5.47-meter long jump in 2008 and a triple jump record in the 70-74 age group with a 10.75-meter jump in 2012. In a total of 11 appearances at European and world Masters championships, Boranga has won 10 medals, including five gold medals.
