Ivanovic's 59-year-old lawyer, Christian Schertz, announced the news to German newspaper Bild on 22/7. The reason given was "irreconcilable differences". Ivanovic will not be answering any further questions about her private life and requests that the media respect her privacy and that of her three children.
Rumors of Schweinsteiger having a new girlfriend had been circulating for several weeks. In June 2025, the 2014 World Cup winner was seen with another woman, suggesting his marriage to Ivanovic was in trouble.

Ivanovic currently lives with her three young children in Mallorca, Spain. A few weeks ago, she attended Wimbledon. Schweinsteiger primarily resides in Munich.
The 37-year-old Ivanovic, who stands at 1.84 m tall, reached the world number one ranking in June 2008 at the age of 20. She won one Grand Slam title, the 2008 French Open, defeating Dinara Safina. Ivanovic also reached the finals of the 2007 French Open and the 2008 Australian Open, but lost to Justin Henin and Maria Sharapova, respectively. She retired from professional tennis in 2016 and transitioned into modeling.
Ivanovic and Schweinsteiger began dating in September 2014, two months after the midfielder won the World Cup. They married on 12/7/2016 in Venice, Italy. They have three children: 7-year-old Luca, 6-year-old Leon, and a 2-year-old.
The 40-year-old Schweinsteiger made his name playing for Bayern Munich from 2002 to 2015. He played for Manchester United from 2015 to 2017 before retiring at Chicago Fire in the US. He captained the German national team at Euro 2016, where they lost to France in the semi-finals.
