At Allianz Arena on 2/5, coach Vincent Kompany made seven changes to the starting lineup compared to the 4-5 loss against PSG in the Champions League semi-final first leg earlier in the week. Jonas Urbig, Minjae Kim, Hiroki Ito, Bara Ndiaye, Leon Goretzka, Konrad Laimer, and Nicolas Jackson were given opportunities, replacing: Manuel Neuer, Dayot Upamecano, Joshua Kimmich, Luis Diaz, Michael Olise, Alphonso Davies, and Harry Kane.

The extensive rotation proved costly for Bayern in the first half. Heidenheim created a major upset by taking a 2-0 lead in just over 30 minutes, thanks to goals from Budu Zivzivadze and Eren Dinkci, silencing the Allianz Arena crowd.
Despite the challenging situation, Bayern found a way to narrow the deficit through a moment of individual brilliance. In the 44th minute, from a free-kick approximately 25 meters out, Leon Goretzka struck the ball high into the net, leaving the Heidenheim goalkeeper rooted and rekindling hope for the home side.
At the start of the second half, Kompany introduced several stars, including: Harry Kane, Luis Diaz, Michael Olise, and Joshua Kimmich. Pressure immediately mounted, and Goretzka completed his brace with a header from Olise's corner kick, leveling the score at 2-2. This marked the German midfielder's fourth brace for Bayern in the Bundesliga, and his first since the home match against Wolfsburg in 1/2025.
The drama intensified. In the 82nd minute, Zivzivadze scored a spectacular right-footed curling shot, completing his brace and restoring Heidenheim's 3-2 lead. The visitors bravely defended their advantage until the 10th minute of stoppage time, seemingly securing the victory.
However, in the very last play, a dramatic turn of events unfolded. Michael Olise's left-footed curling shot hit the post, rebounded off goalkeeper Diant Ramaj's back, and then flew into the net, sealing a breathtaking 3-3 draw.

In France, PSG also rotated their squad with an eye on the Champions League semi-final second leg. Coach Luis Enrique made as many as 10 changes to the starting lineup, retaining only winger Desire Doue.
Despite fielding a reserve squad, PSG took an early lead in the 6th minute in a fortunate manner. From Doue's cross on the left wing, goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo punched the ball, but it accidentally struck the chest of 18-year-old forward Ibrahim Mbaye before deflecting into the net. However, the home side's advantage lasted for only six minutes. Pablo Pagis finished with a neat diagonal shot, bringing the match back to level terms.
A similar scenario unfolded in the second half. In the 62nd minute, Warren Zaire-Emery, a midfielder who had been on the pitch for less than one minute, scored with his first touch, a deflected long-range shot. But Lorient did not give up. In the 78th minute, Tosin Aiyegun rushed in to finish from close range, sealing a 2-2 draw and earning a valuable point for the visitors.
Bayern and PSG will have four days to rest before their rematch at Allianz Arena on 6/5.
