Chelsea found 'mole' in changing room

Coach Liam Rosenior announced Chelsea identified and dealt with the individual who leaked starting lineup information before both legs of their champions league round of 16 losses to PSG.

Before the first leg at Parc des Princes, Rosenior's entire starting eleven was published early by the French media. Similarly, during preparations for the second leg at Stamford Bridge, information that Wesley Fofana was dropped in favor of center-back pairing Trevoh Chalobah and Jorrel Hato also leaked before the official lineup announcement.

Following a rigorous internal investigation, the London club identified the culprit. According to reports from the English media, the leak did not originate directly from the players within the squad.

"We know who it is", Rosenior stated during a press conference ahead of this weekend's premier league match against Everton. "This action did not stem from malice towards me or the team. We understand the source and have handled the situation appropriately".

However, both Rosenior and Chelsea declined to disclose the individual's identity.

The incident occurred amidst significant internal changes at Chelsea. Following the 2-8 aggregate defeat to PSG, Enzo Fernandez – who wore the captain's armband in the second leg – made statements that raised doubts about his future. The Argentine midfielder appeared uncertain whether he would remain at Stamford Bridge next season.

"I had a frank and rather lengthy conversation with Enzo this morning before training", Coach Rosenior reassured regarding the 25-year-old midfielder. "It was not only about his statements, but also about his current feelings and how the entire team can improve. Enzo is one of the team's leaders. Enzo clearly affirmed to me that he is happy at Chelsea, eager to win, and committed to the team's success. He also explained that due to the language barrier and his emotions at the time, his intentions were misunderstood".

Additionally, Rosenior provided an injury update before the away match against Everton on sunday, 22/3. Defender Trevoh Chalobah is expected to be sidelined for about 6 weeks due to an ankle injury sustained in a midweek match. Although initial images showed Chalobah's ankle deformed, doctors stated the severity was not as serious as initially feared.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen will also be absent for several weeks after minor groin surgery. Captain Reece James remains unavailable for the Everton match due to a hamstring issue. However, Rosenior stated: "Reece's injury is not serious, but we need to monitor it further".
